I am the proud owner of a 2005 PT Cruiser - royal blue, convertible. I am driving less but it was about time to retire the civic! Going to sell it in case anyone would be interested! Looking forward to RGL this weekend, blowing out the candle in the house, and having some adventures! Amazing week overall!

Keep coming up and reading, comment occasionally, but have not had much to say for the last few months. Internal work can be hard, healing and at times render you speechless. Many changes and truly all have been good - even if there were some rough spots for me and those who surround me.

I think I knew things turned to a safer, quiet place when on Saturday I spent some time out in the back yard, doing my boots. Not just about doing leather care but from a place that has been very quiet in me for a long time. Just glimmers and faint starts but that insight into myself has made the last week much easier for me to be fully present when I needed to be!

I also am going back into or discovering how vital it is to live life fully and let it all be an adventure and reach for it all (thanks to a very wise fairie in my life). I am grateful for that quiet space! And to get my head up out of me! Thanks for those who have been on this ride with me!!

Your result for Which Chess Piece are You Test?...

The Knight's Blacksmith

The Knight's Blacksmith is practical and matter-of-fact, with a natural inclination towards business or mechanics. They apply themselves when necessary but find application to theoretical constructs to be counterproductive if a bit repugnant. Why theorize when you can simply try? They work hard and efficiently and easily meet deadlines. They are also useful in pointing out falsehoods.

They are civic-minded and work to maintain the smooth operations of a running society. They defend the status quo and are generally strong believers in rules and procedures through tradition. They are outgoing and do not hesitate to communicate their opinions and expectations of others. They may end up focusing too much on the task at hand forgetting the costs of long term. They may also be a bit blunt with their criticism. However they ensure the completion of any project with their tenacity and sheer willpower. You should be pleased scoring as a 'Knight' - it proves that you are a constructive and contributing member of society.

Determined Realist (DR)
(Just visiting? Take the free test and determine your personality type!)

The determined realist likes to bear responsibility and welcomes challenges. He is a stable, reliable person. External contacts are very important to him; he mixes well and is very active. He is an excellent organiser and is very happy when things are done correctly and punctually; he can quickly react impatiently if others are not as conscientious, orderly and dutiful as he is. He prefers structured work which produces visible results quickly to abstract, long-drawn-out processes. He has no problem with routine as long as it serves efficiency. However, he very much dislikes unexpected and unpredictable occurrences which mess up his careful plans. Once he has committed himself to a cause he does this with dedication and is willing to make considerable sacrifices for it.

The determined realist does not avoid conflicts and criticism but faces up to them and looks for solutions. As he has a keen eye for the errors and shortcomings of others and is often quick at expressing criticism, he sometimes rubs people up the wrong way especially when he loses his temper and jumps to conclusions. Due to his marked sense of justice he is quickly willing to correct himself and never takes offence if someone speaks to him frankly. You do not have to seek hidden motives with him; you always know where you are. The determined realist is often found in executive positions as he combines commitment, competence and the ability to assert himself. In his spare time, he often also accepts responsibility in clubs and other institutions.

Traditions rate highly with the determined realist. He attends every family event and never forgets a birthday or wedding anniversary. Family and friends are very important to him. With his open, communicative manner, he finds it easy to get to know people and has a large circle of friends and acquaintances. He is never superficial, but a reliable and loyal friend who is always there when he is needed. The determined realist takes his relationships very seriously - he dreams of finding a partner for life. In a love relationship, he seeks above all stability and loyalty and here, too, he is willing to invest a lot in a harmonious togetherness. He masters crises or difficult phases with composure; he would never think of breaking a promise given. As a partner, one can always rely on his support.

Never too old to learn! [Feb. 9th, 2008|10:00 am]

Haven't written much because have been getting settled in the new job, new home and all the changes and I already travelling again. This week I am in Detroit at Creating Change (am missing the tour guide who was married here last year but I know she is working hard on the political front in NM!). Anyway, went to a Gala Ball last night that was totally amazing. I am going to guess that everybody else has seen "Paris is Burning" and the cultural growth (that came out of Harlem from what I understand) of House and these balls! There was such an incredible diverity of youth from all parts of the country, cultural and ethnic background who came together for a very high energy event! There were many of the "houses' that were there - Infinity, Tequila and they were invited up by the DJ to walk the runway. It was pure electric as the DJ gave them positive strokes and the crowd went wild. There were lots who walked who the DJ just invited to come up because he liked their energy and they would start very shy and inhibited and by the end they were working the runway with big smiles and beaming! Thought about how when the courts started, Mother Jose gave titles to make the court members feel more important and build up their self esteem and how that made a difference. There weren't tips for the walks here - although there was a door cover with a sliding scale based on age and ability to pay - but it served the same purpose. I was thinking about how the courts sometimes have a hard time bringing folks out for drag shows and realized the balls are an expansion on the idea in a new venue, updated music (think non-stop pump)and dress that didn't just look at male/female (it was all over the place!). Was great to be part of it and great to see our LGBTQII etc youth celebrating LIFE! So now back to more workshops!!!!

End of the first week! [Jan. 18th, 2008|08:59 pm]

[music |TV!]

So it wasn't a full week but I did make it to the end of my first week. Didn't get horribly lost (thanks roomie for all the help this week - in all the directions I needed this week!) and figured out the best options for getting into the city. The job is incredible - lots to do and learning curve up at about a 90 degree angle but I kept getting hits on folks this week - like wow I think they're gay - duh, my new job is at a gay non-profit! Then I got to look at queer web sites most of the day and not worry about who knew - it's part of my job! And started working on some great projects for training! Then I get to walk outside and realize I am walking in San Francisco and get to see the bay on the way home!

This is a good place for me and I am happy. Willing to be open to all the good things around me and despite the pace, I am incredibly content. Started my first foster parent class last week and started looking at a bigger place to live so we can do kids! Scrambling with some options on the house in NM that are a bit of a challenge but hoping there are some good options out there!

My thoughts will be with y'all in NM on Sunday as you celebrate Zeus in NM's sudden death. He will be missed!
